Many of you may wonder why a person would choose to begin Reiki treatments. In truth, there are many answers to that question, some of which you might relate to. A person might choose Reiki if they suffer from insomnia, stress, addiction, emotional or physical trauma, pain, autoimmune disorders, cancer, IBS, migraines, headaches, anxiety, impatience, discontent, depression—and the list goes on. Reiki treatments do not replace medical treatment but rather work alongside them, activating the body’s inner wisdom to heal.

One of the aspects of Reiki that I love the most is its intuitive nature. Reiki always works to the highest good of the person receiving treatment. In my experience Reiki works in many different ways. Sometimes slowly and sometimes very quickly, healing has taken place in my life. Learning to accept my highest good has been challenging at times. But again, remembering that Reiki is always working toward it helps me to let go of the outcome and be present for the healing that is taking place.

Reiki has brought about profound emotional healing in my life. It used to be extremely difficult for me to make boundaries and be honest about my true feelings. I was always worried about how other people might feel or that I might hurt their feelings or cause conflict. Over time, I have become aware of how this has robbed people of the opportunity to truly know me and has robbed me of the ability to know myself. Slowly, in this case, as the process is still happening, I am able to speak my truth and make healthy boundaries. Learning to trust my feelings is a most worthwhile endeavor as it has brought about emotional balance and peace in my daily life. This is a clear example of how Reiki treatments have worked towards my highest good, healing me in ways that I wasn’t expecting.

I believe that there is a connection between our emotional and our physical state. Our emotions and their expression, repression, or suppression can manifest as pain, disease, and discomfort in the body. Reiki heals both emotional and physical trauma. Immediately after a treatment, a person will feel a sense of deep relaxation and comfort. Stress is something every person deals with on a daily basis and can have a dramatic effect on physical and emotional health. This deep calm is the first benefit received from Reiki and over time, even more is revealed.
